The MS in Finance curriculum is designed to provide students with the in-demand skills they need to make financial and investment decisions.

Description

The program curriculum will help students develop an understanding of financial decision making that is relevant to portfolio and risk managers, as well as corporate finance officers. Students are trained in the latest quantitative methods and real-world applications are presented through case studies.

Standard requirements for all graduate programs

Application for Admission with $50 non-refundable application fee.
Transcripts (unofficial): Uploaded as part of application form.

Applicants must also fulfill any additional requirements the department specifies at the time of application.

Additional requirements specific to this program

Entrance exam(s): GMAT, GRE, or waiver. Most applicants must submit a GMAT score (test within the last 5 years, recommended minimum 600) or a GRE score (test within the last 5 years). Some applicants are eligible to request a GMAT/GRE waiver based on any of the following qualifications: 1) seven or more years of significant managerial, operational or decision-making experience and an acceptable undergraduate GPA; 2) earned a Ph.D., JD, MD, or Pharm D; 3) currently enrolled in medical school; or 4) admitted to the Nebraska College of Law. Students with 3+ years of work experience and satisfactory performance in a College of Business certificate (generally defined as a 3.5 GPA or higher) may also apply for a GMAT/GRE waiver. GMAT/GRE waivers will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Minimum English proficiency: Paper TOEFL 550, Internet TOEFL 80, IELTS 6.5.

Personal Statement: This statement should address why you want to pursue this degree, your career goals after attaining it, and why you are interested in the Finance program at Nebraska.
Three references: Provide names and contact information. No recommendation letters are needed; these references will be contacted only if the committee deems it necessary.
